Over the past couple of weeks, and during my family holiday in Germany I have been combing over 6 areas of my life and looking at how I can grow in each area. It’s an interesting process, getting clear on your goals and your aspirations. Personal development is never a static, set and forget kind of thing but often a tumultuous, fluid and ever changing process (or it is for me).

In general I am trying to simplify my life, have less goals, focusing on ritualizing my habits, embodying my aspirations rather than seeing them as end points.

So in the interests of being open and perhaps helping others get clear on what their goals are here are my 5 Month Goals in the 6 areas of life, their accompanying affirmations and my 7 year intention.

My 5 Month Goals (1 August – 31 December 2014)

Health

• Be able to briskly run around the block without stopping
• I will be 65 kg, fit, trim and healthy

Finances

• I will earn $70k gross from multiple sources of income
• I will bring down my credit card debt to less than $2,000

Personal

• Complete 2 speeches for Toastmasters
• I will let go of my paintings in my garage
• I will bring in 10 new MOBE Licensees

Family

• Help Eve improve her spelling and maths and help Lili get a job
• Plan our family holiday

Career

• Speak on stage about internet marketing and record it
• Create a responsive list of 1000 subscribers
• Move 90% into L2 work with a team of 3 L1 coaches

Emotional

• Complete and implement the book ‘The 5 Love Languages’

” A Goal With No Plan Is Just A Wish”

Here’s are some basic action plans on how I intend to achieve these goals in the next 5 months

Health
• Be able to briskly run around the block without stopping
• I will be 65 kg, fit, trim and healthy

The main thing in terms of being healthy will be good nutrition and daily exercise. I will be using Isagenix products as my foundation for health. I’m also going to be out-right banning MacDonalds, KFC and Hungry Jacks from my diet over the next 5 months. (No more Maccas runs for me during my lunch break…)

I’ve always wanted to run around the block in my neighborhood. My ‘block’ is actually a rectangular loop that goes for about 5km. I almost got close to being fit enough to do it once but never quite reached it. So my aim is to exercise EVERYDAY I will be doing a 30mins workout usually via running. I’ve got a great app called C25k – 5K Runner – which will help me implement the first goal incrementally. If I can’t run (because it’s running or I’m away) then I’ve got 30 mins body weight/ kettle bell exercises on my smart phoneI can do in its place. Kettlebell Coach is a good android app for a 30 mins blitz workout.

Finances
• I will earn $70k gross from multiple sources of income
• I will bring down my credit card debt to less than $2,000

I plan to earn the $70k through my coaching with MOBE, personal MTTB sales and upgrades and Isagenix commissions.

My credit is presently around $10k, it may temporarily balloon to $13k by the end of September when I go to the Bahamas Titanium Mastermind. But I’ve actually implemented $1500 worth of monthly savings in the last 24 hours which will go on top of my credit reduction plan.

Personal

I need to get the entertainers manual for Toastmasters asap and simply book these in. Letting go of my old paintings will be about emotionally and physically letting go and I plan on putting aside an hour each weekend to clean up, get rid off, sell or give away 75% of my paintings.

In terms of bringing in new MOBE licensees I am planning on doing a 30 day recruiting Blitz  in October when I come back from Titanium mastermind in the Bahamas according to the plan laid out by Eric Wohre in Network Marketing Pro.

Family
• Help Eve improve her spelling and maths and help Lili get a job
• Plan our family holiday

I want to focus on helping my kids achieve their goals. I will be spending 1 hour everyday from 4.30-5.30pm helping my girls with their school work. In terms of a family holiday it looks like a family trip to Singapore or Phuket in January for about 10 days.

I am due to speak at the Home Business Summit in Melbourne in August (tickets, flights all paid and accommodation booked) and I have to sort out the recording part.

Yes it’s true, I am an internet marketer without an email list. Please don’t throw rotten tomatoes at me. Technically I deleted my email list a few months ago but I haven’t gotten around to starting up a new one. Actually I’ve been thinking of creating real time case study and using it as a optin give away.

Currently I do Level 1 and Level 2 phone coaching for MOBE but I want to move into predominantly L2 work. It’s more lucrative and a better use of my time.

Emotional
• Complete and implement the book ‘The 5 Love Languages”

What is wealth, and health without happiness and having that special someone to share it with? Not much I say. Can you really call yourself a success if you’re millionaire but in terrible health and a marriage in tatters? I don’t think so either.

So I am committing 30 mins a week to reading and implementing the recommendations in this book.

And of course treating Iris like the wife I treasure and Love!

Things I will have to give up…

No one likes the idea of giving up the things they like or of making needless sacrifices. But if there’s anything I’ve learnt about successful people it’s this:

Successful people are willing to do the things others won’t do to get the things others won’t ever get.

So here’s a short list of things that I am going to give up or minimize in order to achieve my goals

  • McDonalds, KFC and any other junk food.
  • Unnecessary Facebook time when I could be running, reading or working on my goals. facebook will be used to connect and network and occasionally update. 30 mins Max daily
  • Labeling myself as a ‘procrastinator’. I’m going to become a ‘recovering procrastinator’ instead!
  • Unnecessary spending – especially on WSO’s, JvZoo products or the next biggest products! Enough is enough. I am going to focus on marketing and product creation to the exclusion of anything in the IM world.
  • I will be scaling down my involvement with Toastmasters and Isagenix to once a month.
  • I will be giving up being addicted to overwhelm and analysis paralysis.
  • Give up unnecessary TV – perhaps Offspring with the wife and one movie with the family on the weekend.

My Affirmations

I also created Affirmations that would assist me on staying focussed on my path by reminding me in a positive way of my intentions:

 

I am a recovering procrastinator, everyday I learn to relax, take small actions and get things done.

I run or workout for 30 mins everyday, so I can stay trim and energetic. I ban junk food from my diet and eat healthy.

I am focussed on money generating activities, minimizing unnecessary spending and paying off my credit card debt.

When I am with my family and friends, I am present and I am engaged.

I am focused on excelling and doing my best whilst enjoying the journey along the way.

I am actively creating a wonderful marriage and an enduring friendship.

My 7 Year Intention

And finally my 7 year intention.

But first why seven years? Why not do intentions for 7 months, weeks or 7 seconds?

I learnt about the process of intention via Authentic Education here.  I also decided that my intention will be my ‘big over-arching goal’. And anything worth having is worth focussing on and taking the time to explore and create.

For the longest time I’ve had the goal of being a millionaire.

But intention is about the whole person and about the type of wealth I create.

My 7 year intention is the become a passively abundant healthy and wealthy multi-millionaire.

Anyways, thats my 5 goals, affirmations and 7 year intentions. I will be keeping you updated on the progress of these goals as these months progress.
